Abstract
Happiness is considered to be a positive emotion in the field of psychology. Happiness is a state of well-being that comprises living a good life, one with a sense of meaning and inner contentment. For any organisation to thrive and perform well, having happy employees is crucial to business since they put in more effort and are generally more productive. They are enthusiastic about what they will accomplish and how they're going to do it. People who are happy in their jobs tend to be more productive, more engaged, and ultimately happier with life than those who aren't content with their jobs. A happy employee too is more likely to contribute to a positive work environment and serve as a role model for fellow co-workers. Taking into account these positive effects, the purpose of this study is to promote happiness at work by reviewing the factors that lead to happiness at work, particularly the role of meaningful work, affective commitment, and gratitude in promoting happiness at work. This paper presents a conceptual framework that could contribute significantly to future research in this area.
